Rolling Tides

With this painting I really wanted to challenge myself. I kept wondering if I could create something that felt more realistic, while still keeping the abstract energy that naturally comes through in my work.
There’s honestly no big story behind this one. It wasn’t about a vision or a moment, it was simply me asking myself the question, can I do something that looks more realistic but still feels like my style.
As I worked on it, I focused on balancing those two instincts. Letting parts of the painting move toward realism while still allowing the abstract shapes, textures, and movement to exist.
In the end it became more of an experiment with myself as an artist. A quiet challenge to see what would happen if I pushed my approach a little differently. Whether it leans more realistic or more abstract… you be the judge.
